Catalog, image brochure, purposebook: with the Selux book, the Berlin-based manufacturer of outdoor lighting manifests the biggest reorientation in the company's 80-year history.

The absence of light stands for the new beginning: a black monolith, A4 in size, weighing almost two kilograms and over 450 pages thick is supposed to unite everything that Selux represents. What is more sustainable than manufacturing products that have a lifespan of 50 years or more? Why do we think in terms of fiscal years and not generations? What if we didn't act in the entrenched opposition of man and nature?

Luminatures

In nature, everything is in perfect harmony. Everything complements each other, nothing dominates in the long run. Nature knows no monoculture, nothing is fashionable and everything that does not make sense passes away. The result is perfect protagonists that exist in interaction with each other, constantly optimizing themselves.

German Brand Award '21

»For more than ten years, we have been working for and with Selux: on digital tools, services and strategies, and have received many awards for this in the past. Now we are receiving the German Brand Award in Gold for our brand work, which is manifested in the Selux book. I am proud and grateful for that. A wonderful team (Lisa Rudolf, Isa Soysal, Maciej Kodzis, Sarah Kremer) and clients (especially Klaus-Peter Siemssen and Manuela Schnabel) who have trusted us for years have made this success possible.«

Hugo Göldner, Managing Partner and Creative Director CDLX.
